Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival

2010 Festival Comments & Photo Gallery

Comments

"From my perspective and a first-time observer of the festival, I thought that the number and breadth of activities and programs offered was outstanding, from the first hour to the last. There did not seem to leave a stone unturned and at times it seemed difficult to choose from the many and varied offerings. I found it interesting that attendants seemed to have a variety of interests - one did not necessarily have to be a birder to enjoy the activities." Shirley, Washington

"I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Festival. I am a Homer resident, have lived here a long time, and am embarrassed to admit that this was the first year I ever attended the Keynote Address. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it; I laughed till the tears ran down my checks. I was so intrigued, I also came to the talk on Sunday morning. Peter Harrison is a GREAT speaker, VERY entertaining, and able to draw in all ages, birders and non-birders alike. Have all your speakers been so wonderful? I have heard comments from many people about how beautifully organized the weekend was, and how wonderful it was that there were so many activities for kids. I totally agree. From the bentwood visors to origami at the museum, from Firth inspired art lessons to the live bird presentations, the variety was awesome! Thank you so much again, for a VERY fun, educational weekend." Nell, Homer resident
